According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins just made a trade involving quarterback Kyle McCord.
"Trade: Packers are sending QB Kyle McCord to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a 2028 6th-round pick, per sources," he shared on X on Sunday. "After trading Quinn Ewers to the Jaguars, the Dolphins needed a new backup for Malik Willis." It's definitely an interesting quarterback reunion for a team coming off a rough season.
McCord also gets a fresh chance after his time in Green Bay. Miami needed another backup after trading Quinn Ewers to Jacksonville, and McCord now steps into that spot. With Hafley taking over as head coach, the Dolphins are already looking different from the team that finished last season. Now, they'll have two familiar faces from Green Bay in their quarterback room.
Whether that connection ends up making a difference remains to be seen, but it's certainly an unusual way for two former Packers quarterbacks to wind up on the same team.
