November is typically a major month for video game releases, and 2026 is no exception. The biggest game of the month is undoubtedly Grand Theft Auto 6, which is one of the most anticipated entertainment events of all time. But Rockstar’s magnum opus isn’t coming to Switch 2 — not yet, anyway.
That said, there are still plenty of intriguing new games coming out for Nintendo’s hybrid console in November. Here are five that we’re especially excited about. November’s biggest Switch 2 release just happens to be a console exclusive — and it’s the perfect contrast to all the lurid excess of GTA 6.
The Nintendo 64 classic revolutionized 3D game designed with its player-controlled camera, lock-on combat, and contextual controls. This top-down remake ditches the original's low-poly asethetic for a sumptuous toyland art style and modernized controls. After a 30-minute hands-on preview in October, Polygon’s Michael McWhertor came away thoroughly impressed.
But Eidos-Montréal’s Guardians of the Galaxy is something altogether different. This single-player action-adventure game balances spectacle with heartfelt moments — and it has a killer soundtrack bursting with ‘80s bangers. Ensemble casts can often feel a little too yappy, but the banter here is genuinely funny and doesn’t grow tiresome.
Guardians was nominated for four Game Awards and ultimately took home the prize for Best Narrative. The Encore Edition is exclusive to Switch 2 and includes a new set of glam rock outfits for Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Rocket and Groot. Put aside the exhausting internet discourse surrounding Stellar Blade’s protagonist Eve, and you’re left with a rock-solid action game that will put your countering and parrying skills to the test.
As Eve, you’re tasked with reclaiming Earth from a hostile alien species, and along the way you’ll piece together the dramatic events that lead to the fall of civilization. Though the customization and skill tree leave a bit to be desired compared to similar character action games, the exhilarating combat and roller-coaster final act make for a memorable 20-25-hour experience. This acclaimed 2023 RPG takes Atlus’s trademark combo of dungeon crawling and social sim elements from the Persona series and applies it to an entirely new world.
