Aaron Rodgers Reveals Major Plan for After Final NFL Season

Ahead of his final season, Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers revealed his major plan after he officially retires from the NFL.

Aaron Rodgers has a major plan in mind for what he'll be doing after suiting up for his final NFL season, and based on his reveal it likely won't involve football all that much. The 42-year-old star quarterback has already achieved a Super Bowl ring and multiple NFL Most Valuable Player awards. Now the Pittsburgh Steelers veteran has another big goal to accomplish once he's done.

While speaking to Adam Schein for Sirius XM's Mad Dog Sports, Rodgers mentioned his intention to raise his first child, something that being away from football would allow him to do. "I'm hopefully going to be supporting my pregnant wife because we're gonna start a family, and I am not gonna be making a lot of appearances or statements, and I'm looking forward to it," Rodgers told Schein, admitting he was "looking forward to a life of quiet after 22 years in the pros and three in college." "I'm definitely excited about it. ... Being back in my family's lives, I'm having a lot of fun being Uncle Aaron," he said, mentioning that the more he's around his brother's children, the more he and his wife become excited about having kids of their own. When asked whether that was a "crystal ball" prediction about his wife having their first child, Rodgers confirmed that she isn't pregnant currently and that he is "hoping" she will be by "this time," presumably meaning after his retirement.

After dating high-profile celebrities including former racecar driver Danica Patrick and actresses Shailene Woodley and Olivia Munn, Rodgers has kept his wife private. According to People, Rodgers revealed in 2024 on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he was dating a woman named "Brittani," but he didn't reveal her last name. At a June 2025 press conference, Rodgers revealed he and Brittani had been secretly married for several months, and that his wife's identity remains top secret because she wants to keep their life private.

Rodgers admitted he had "a lot of conversations" with his wife before finally deciding to sign a one-year contract and return for a final NFL season to play for the Steelers. He reunites with his former head coach, Mike McCarthy, for his last dance as they're looking to get the Steelers into the NFL Playoffs. They begin their regular season with a home opener on Sunday, Sept. 13, against the Atlanta Falcons.
