Growing up, my dad did all of his holiday shopping on Christmas Eve (and still largely does), which gave me anxiety and turned me into the person who gets all shopping done well before Thanksgiving. As a collector myself, I like to gift Lego sets because a) there’s legitimately a set for everyone, and b) I want everyone to love Lego as much as I do. I will not rest until I do.
This year, I’m not waiting for the big Black Friday sales, because to my surprise as a full-time deals tracker, I’m seeing a lot of great sets for up to 43 percent off on Amazon already. I know you’re probably groaning at the idea of holiday shopping now, but come December, you will thank me. My favorite deal right now is on this set of two Mercedes vehicles; they’re detailed models that look like the real deal with grilles, wheels, and even the logo on the hoods.
It makes a great gift for kids if you’re trying to get them into cars—or for your own mini car collection. It’s also retiring at the end of the year, so now’s the time to buy. If you’re collecting Lego sports cars, try the Ferrari SF-24 F1 for beginners or the Ferrari FXX K Toy Car for more advanced builders.
It’s also a great time to be a Star Wars fan: AT-AT Walker, R2-D2, Anzellan Starship, Millennium Falcon, and Darth Vader bust are all marked down for $80 or less. I will say this: A lot of the bigger sets aren’t marked down right now, so if you’re holding out hope for even a small markdown there, you might need to wait until Black Friday proper. Otherwise, have at it, because the deals below are genuinely good.
And popular sets do tend to sell out during big sales events like Black Friday (as I saw on Prime Day earlier this year). Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
