Last season, the WNBA suffered a stretch where fans — or obnoxious people posing as fans — kept throwing green sex toys onto the court. The issue had been limited to last season before it happened again during the Atlanta Dream and Los Angeles Sparks game at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Thursday night. During the third quarter of the Dream's blowout win, Sparks forward Jihyun Park was at the free-throw line.
Cameras caught another green sex toy flying toward Park. The referee paused the game to clear the object from the floor. Dream All-Star forward Angel Reese was seen pointing toward the perpetrator and seemingly yelling, "Get him!" According to The Athletic, the person who did it "was apprehended by arena security." Other than that, it was business as usual for the Dream, improving to 23-13 with their fourth win in five games.
Reese recorded 20 points on a perfect 9-for-9 shooting from the field to go along with 10 rebounds and eight assists. It marked her third straight double-double and 25th double-double this season. She's already set Atlanta's all-time record for double-doubles in a single season, and she's closing in on Alyssa Thomas' all-time WNBA record of 28.
Reese and the Dream will face Thomas and the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday, Aug. 22, before returning to Los Angeles to play the Sparks again on Monday, Aug. 24. Atlanta currently occupies the No. 5 seed with eight games remaining in the 2026 WNBA regular season.
