Another good day for Bangladesh, without fully becoming a great day. This is very interestingly set up. Obviously Bangladesh are in the stronger position, but they need wickets more urgently than the score suggests - I truly believe that the closer they get to victory, the harder they will find it to close it out.
Let’s imagine a match where Australia’s last four, with the help of Beau Webster, could settle in and add 100, maybe 120. They’ve done that plenty of times before. That would mean that Green and Carey have to add another 100 or so tomorrow morning, and if all of that happened, Australia would have somewhere approaching 150 to defend.
Regardless of the conditions, Bangladesh will very likely find that hard to chase because of the emotions and the anxiety of possibly winning. If they can defy that anxiety and keep their cool, it will be a sign of major sporting development within that team.
