After the game, Las Vegas Aces head coach Becky Hammon spoke about the interaction from her perspective, saying it was the first time she'd seen Wilson react like this. I’ve never seen A’ja Wilson go like that. So, whatever was done, I can tell you she felt very disrespected in that moment. ... Whatever it was, it doesn’t have any place, I don’t think, in an arena," Hammon told reporters.
After officials reviewed the incident, Wilson received a technical foul for leaving the floor to confront the fan. The fan was briefly escorted from their seat and returned in the fourth quarter. The Fever released a statement about the investigation into the incident.
Wilson didn't share anything specific about what was said or occurred during the fan incident, but addressed the interaction in her postgame media session. "If I see a man come at me, taking steps towards me and pointing at me. ... I don’t give a [expletive] what you said. … It's unacceptable," she said in part of her remarks.
