Ben Folds Five are reuniting for their first tour in 14 years. The sardonic piano-rockers got together for a one-off hometown show at the storied North Carolina venue Cat's Cradle in 2023, but they haven't hit the road together since their last reunion tour wrapped up in 2013. The occasion for the outing would appear to be BFF's recent deluxe reissue of their 1995 debut album, though maybe Folds has more time on his hands since leaving the Kennedy Center last year.
In April, Folds, bassist Robert Sledge, and drummer Darren Jessee will reconvene for nine shows across the American South. It's the first leg of what we're told will be a more extensive tour, so Foldsheads across the nation need not worry. Tickets go on sale this Friday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. local time.

I also looked back on Folds' solo debut Rockin' The Suburbs, and my former colleague Rachel Brodsky conducted a We've Got A File On You interview with Folds in 2023.
