Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher TJ Watt was one of the many Steelers players who was captured on video outwardly voicing their frustrations during the team's Week 4 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Watt's frustrations during the game were seemingly directed towards Steelers defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, grabbing a headset on the sidelines that was seemingly wired to have communication with Graham and seemingly yelling a passionate message to Graham. To some, Watt's actions may be seen as somewhat undermining disrespectful towards Graham.
But to former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, someone like Watt has certainly earned the right to air his grievances with Graham's defensive strategy publicly. "When it doesn't happen that often...
When TJ Watt grabs that thing, it's probably like, 'Okay, something is going on,'" said Roethlisberger. "If he does this every week, it would be like, 'What are we doing?' He has got every right to do it. He's a leader, he's a captain.
I assume he's a captain, he should be. If not, he's a Hall of Fame guy making plays. He's a bright spot for this team.
Because he doesn't do it that often, it's going to create headway." Watt and the Steelers defense will look to regroup from their Week 4 loss when they return home to host the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5 of the NFL season, who come into the game off of back-to-back wins over the Houston Texans and the Washington Commanders.
