After losing 29-26 to the New England Patriots in Week 4, the Buffalo Bills have responded by winning each of their last two games. With their two-game winning streak, the Bills remain at the top of the AFC East standings with a 5-1 record. Thus, Buffalo is in a very good spot at this point in the campaign.
Yet, the Bills still have some roster needs that they should aim to address. One area that they need to upgrade is the cornerback position, and they are now being linked to a top free agent because of it. Alex Kay of Bleacher Report recently urged the Bills to sign four-time Pro Bowler Marshon Lattimore to boost their depth at the cornerback position.
"The Buffalo Bills know they have a cornerback problem and are working to address it. The team just signed Tre'Davious White to its practice squad, bringing him back for a third stint with the franchise since selecting him on Day 1 of the 2017 draft — but the Bills shouldn't be done making moves quite yet. Bringing in Lattimore, another proven Pro Bowler with a wealth of experience, could be what this team needs to get back on track," Kay wrote.
With the Bills needing another cornerback, it would make sense for them to take a gamble on a veteran like Lattimore. He would have the potential to give the Bills a boost as they aim to keep their strong start to the season going. Lattimore is a free agent after spending this past season with the Washington Commanders.
In nine games with Washington last year, he recorded one interception and 27 combined tackles. In 108 games over his nine-year NFL career, he has posted 16 interceptions and 436 combined tackles. Overall, Lattimore has a great resume, and it would make sense for Buffalo to add him because of it.
It will be interesting to see if the Bills sign the veteran star from here.
