One of People’s sources claimed Billy had been told his nudity would be “cut from the film,” while TMZ reported that he was told “it would not make the final cut for legal reasons.” “The shower scene wasn’t Billy’s idea. He only agreed to it with an understanding they would keep it PG,” another insider told the outlet. It’s a violation of trust and exploiting that trust for shock value.” Both the report and Billy’s doubling down come after one of the film’s directors, Lance Oppenheim, insisted that he “didn’t care” that they had filmed him during a post-gym shower.
During an interview with Vulture, Lance suggested that Billy “really had something he wanted to show to us and to the world” when it came to the infamous full-frontal scene.
