The Kansas City Chiefs suffered their first loss of the 2026 NFL season this past Sunday, falling to the reigning Super Bowl-champion Seattle Seahawks in a primetime Week 7 clash at Lumen Field. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense were held to a single field goal in the 20-3 loss, failing to find the same level of success they've seen through their five wins this year. Mahomes threw for a season-low 165 yards and an interception in the Week 7 loss.
Running back Kenneth Walker III, who's been absurdly productive in his first season with the Chiefs, rushed for just 36 yards. Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy gave a blunt assessment of his team's performance when speaking to reporters on Thursday. "We got our [expletive] kicked as a coaching staff, as a team, and as a unit, but we're onto the Denver Broncos," Bieniemy said, via team insider Charles Goldman.
The Chiefs will look to get back on track against the Denver Broncos in a Week 8 matchup this coming Sunday. In a season-opening victory over the Broncos in Week 1, Mahomes threw for 182 yards and two touchdowns, while Walker rushed for 173 yards and a score on the ground. Sunday's rematch will kick off at 4:25 p.m.
