Patrick Mahomes is coming off the worst season of his NFL career, suffering a season-ending torn ACL in Week 15 of the Kansas City Chiefs' 2025 campaign. The Chiefs finished the year with a disappointing 6-11 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014. That being said, Mahomes' NFL peers still view him as one of the top players in the league.
On Tuesday, he was announced as the No. 18 player on the 2026 NFL Top 100 rankings, as voted on by the league's active players. The Chiefs took to social media to react to Mahomes' spot on the annual list. "The no. 18 spot belongs to no. 15," the team wrote on X.
Before suffering his season-ending injury in Week 15, Mahomes completed 62.7% of his passes for 3,587 yards, 22 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He also rushed for a career-high 422 yards in his limited time on the field. Mahomes is ahead of schedule on his recovery and expected to take the field for the Chiefs' season-opening "Monday Night Football" matchup against the Denver Broncos on Sept. 14.
