Colts HC Shane Steichen Sends Clear Message on Daniel Jones After Titans Loss

Colts head coach Shane Steichen makes it clear that Daniel Jones is still his starting QB following their loss to the Titans.

The Indianapolis Colts' struggles with turnovers plagued them again in their Week 6 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. However, it doesn't seem like quarterback Daniel Jones is in any jeopardy of losing his job, according to Colts head coach Shane Steichen. Despite out-gaining the Titans by over 200 total yards on Sunday, the Colts ultimately made too many mistakes to come away with a win.

This includes a blocked punt that was returned for a touchdown by the Titans, as well as two interceptions from Jones deep in Titans territory. Through the first six games of the season for the Colts, Jones has personally accounted for nine total turnovers. As a result, many Colts fans have been questioning whether it may be time for Jones to be removed from his starting duties in favor of second string quarterback Anthony Richardson.

Following Sunday's game, Shane Steichen was directly asked whether Jones is still the team's starting quarterback; a question that was answered with a resounding yes. "Yes, he is still our starting quarterback," said Steichen.

That being said, Jones has certainly not lived up to that contract thus far. And it sure seems like pressure is quickly building for Steichen to potentially make a big change, or risk potentially losing his own job while going down with the ship Jones is currently steering in the process.

Indianapolis will look to rebound in Week 7 when they take to the road to face off against the Minnesota Vikings.
