The Indianapolis Colts' offense has been somewhat underwhelming through the first five weeks of the 2026 NFL season. And after news that emerged on Friday about one of the most important pieces of their offense, it doesn't look promising that things will change in their Week 6 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Injuries at the wide receiver position have greatly limited the explosiveness of the Colts offense.
Without deep threat Alec Pierce, who re-aggravated an offseason heel injury in the team's Week 2 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, big plays through the air have been hard to come by for quarterback Daniel Jones. The Colts were hoping that veteran wide receiver Darius Slayton, whom the team signed last month, could potentially fill in for Pierce to stretch the field for Indianapolis. However, after failing to see the field, the Colts organization opted to part ways with Slayton on Friday.
Considering how limited the Colts already have been in the passing game, they certainly can't afford any more injuries to impactful skill position players. Unfortunately, one notable injury seems to have come out of the team's practice on Friday. More news: Chiefs RB Kenneth Walker Refuses to Underestimate 0-5 Chargers Warren has served as an incredibly impactful player in his sophomore season in the NFL, leading the Colts in receptions and receiving touchdowns on the year. His absence could certainly be detrimental for the Colts against a Titans team that is desperate to notch their first win this season. Whether Warren does ultimately suit up or not, this game is incredibly important for the Colts, who are looking to chase down the Jacksonville Jaguars at the top of the AFC South.
So it will certainly be worth monitoring whether the Colts will have Warren, perhaps their most impactful receiving threat, for this ever-important matchup.
