Commanders QB Jayden Daniels Will be Missing Key WR Weapon in His Return

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will be missing at least one key wide receiver weapon on Sunday.

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is returning to the field on Sunday for a Week 5 matchup against the New York Giants. Daniels missed each of the Commanders' last two games after suffering a gruesome-looking dislocated elbow against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2. But now just a couple weeks later, the 25-year-old signal caller is "full go" for Week 5.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for his wide receiver unit. When speaking with reporters on Friday, head coach Dan Quinn said veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs will be out for Sunday's Week 5 clash against the division-rival Giants. Diggs notched DNPs in each practice this week with a hamstring injury.

While Diggs is out, Quinn provided an encouraging update on lead wide receiver weapon Terry McLaurin, who missed this past Sunday's Week 4 loss to the Indianapolis Colts with a hamstring injury of his own. His status is still questionable for Week 5, but he was spotted participating in practice on Friday. Through four games this year, Diggs leads the Commanders in receiving yards (170) and receiving touchdowns (3).

Sunday's matchup against the Giants will kick off at 1 p.m.
