Washington – Country ballad “Choosin’ Texas” from singer Ella Langley on Tuesday broke the record for most weeks topping the Hot 100 chart in the United States, unseating a famed Christmas song by Mariah Carey. The track was released in October and has been No. 1 for 23 weeks in a ranking that includes streaming, radio play, sales and data, the magazine said, adding that its figures are tabulated by the company Luminate. Langley, 27, thus surpasses Carey’s Christmas anthem “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” In a video posted to Instagram on Tuesday, the Alabama native said she planned to celebrate the win.
