Deion Sanders Offered Critics $50,000 on 1 Condition: Report

Uncle Neely says Deion Sanders made critics a $50,000 offer with a catch as Colorado Buffaloes sink to 2-5 in Year 4.

Deion Sanders apparently has a price for peace and quiet, and his critics keep turning it down. Christopher Neely, Sanders’ personal videographer, who goes by “Uncle Neely,” said during an Oct. 26 BuffBoys Live stream that the Colorado Buffaloes head coach offered some detractors $50,000 to avoid mentioning him for 12 months, Essentially Sports reported. Neely said Sanders’ critics are profiting off him.

Which is why he told some of them, ‘Hey man, let’s just do this. I give you $50,000 to not mention my name for a year.’ And ain’t nobody took the deal yet… And you love talking about this man so much, and you make so much talking of this man that you turned the deal down.” By Neely’s account, nobody accepted, and no money changed hands. Sanders hasn’t addressed the claim publicly, and nothing on the public record confirms such an offer.

Neely’s defense arrives with Colorado at 2-5 in Sanders’ fourth season. The Buffaloes are 0-4 in Big 12 play, the only league team still winless in conference games. Lopsided losses to Northwestern, 41-7, and Texas Tech, 29-7, sit alongside a 23-13 defeat to Baylor.

The 57-24 rout by Oklahoma State stung most. Colorado held a one-point lead in the opening half, then gave up 34 straight points after the break. Quarterback Isaac Wilson threw for 222 yards and a 15-yard touchdown before halftime, but the running backs managed 42 yards on 15 carries, a 2.8-yard average.

Offensive coordinator Brennan Marion dialed up a QB run on the first play out of halftime, and Wilson’s fumble put Oklahoma State in front. Sanders put the blame on his players afterward, saying they weren’t hungry enough to win for the school. Colorado finished 3-9 in 2025 after a late fade.
