If there's one material that will stand the test of time, it's denim. From jeans to shorts to shirts to jackets, there's no item of clothing that hasn't been made from the textile. It's also incredibly versatile, transitioning from rugged casual to high fashion with ease.
Not to mention its durability and downright comfort. Basically, denim has achieved icon status, and there's no pushing it from its pedestal. Here at Cosmo, we're always looking for our new favorite denim piece, whether it's a simple pair of jeans or a new take on a beloved item.
And for this season, we think we've found it. Enter: H&M’s $33 pleated midi skirt. We’re obsessed with the on-point classic denim wash that’s known for its versatility.
But we’re equally in love with its pleated silhouette, a major trend this time of year that embodies warmth, versatility, and timeless elegance. The fitted top adds structure and support, while the flared bottom creates movement and a naturally flattering shape. For those of you frantically adding the skirt to your basket (us included), it’s worth having a few styling ideas in mind for when it arrives.
We love the idea of pairing it with chic knee-high boots and an elegant knit for an effortlessly polished look. On brisk fall days, I’m planning to style it with a bright striped knit cardigan and ballet flats for an outfit that’s equal parts chic and comfortable. Or, for more of a Friday-night, going-out vibe, I’d swap in a slinky top and kitten heels.
