Derrick Henry has eight rushing touchdowns this season, but Baltimore enters its matchup with Jacksonville trying to end a three-game skid. The Baltimore Ravens running back can take sole possession of fourth place for career touchdowns by a running back when Baltimore (4-4) hosts the Jacksonville Jaguars (5-2) on Thursday night. Henry tied Faulk at 136 with a touchdown against Buffalo in Week 8.
Henry’s total includes 130 rushing touchdowns and six receiving scores. A touchdown against Jacksonville would give Henry 137, leaving only Emmitt Smith with 175, LaDainian Tomlinson with 162 and Marcus Allen with 145 ahead of him among running backs. All four players currently tied with or ahead of Henry are members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Henry enters Week 9 with eight rushing touchdowns this season. Two more would give him his ninth season with at least 10 rushing scores, matching Tomlinson for the most in NFL history. Tomlinson reached double figures every season from 2001 through 2009.
Baltimore has lost three consecutive games and will start undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano at quarterback. The team placed Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley on injured reserve Thursday following the injuries they suffered against Buffalo. Henry has totaled only 98 rushing yards over the past two games.
Rookie guard Vega Ioane, who missed the Buffalo game with a knee injury, is set to return after practicing fully twice and receiving no game designation. Jacksonville can reach 25 consecutive games without allowing any opposing player at least 75 rushing yards, which would be the third such streak in the Super Bowl era. The San Francisco 49ers hold the two longer streaks, reaching 27 consecutive games from 2021 through 2023 and 26 from 1989 through 1991.
