‘Disclosure Day’ Sets Peacock Streaming Release Date

Steven Spielberg‘s latest sci-fi adventure, “Disclosure Day,” will stream on Peacock starting Oct. 9 Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor star as a meteorologist and whistleblower who discover an unexpected connection with alien life. They risk their lives to reveal the truth to the world about extraterrestrial activity and abuse at the hands of the U.S. government. The film, released in theaters on June 12, also stars Colman Domingo, Colin Firth, Wyatt Russell, Eve Hewson and newcomer Courtney Grace.

Universal spent $115 million to produce it and $80 million to market the action drama. Overall, the film received positive reviews from critics, with an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes, while audiences were a bit more muted. In his review, Variety‘s chief film critic Owen Gleiberman commended the performances but concluded that the film “doesn’t take us anywhere overly surprising” by the end.

Spielberg has won multiple Oscars over the course of his accomplished career, including best director and best picture for “Schindler’s List” and best director for “Saving Private Ryan,” along with many other nominations for films like “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Munich,” “War Horse,” “Lincoln,” “The Post” and “West Side Story.” He was most recently nominated for best picture as a producer on “Hamnet,” directed by Chloé Zhao.
