On Tuesday, defensive end Brandon Graham officially announced his retirement from the NFL after 16 seasons, all spent playing for the Philadelphia Eagles. Graham, 38, broke his own retirement news in a video that surfaced online and also sent a message about his team's future. "Everybody, I'm officially done.
Y'all hearing it from me first," he announced in a video shared by NBC Sports Philadelphia on X. "But let me tell you this: they are in great hands," Graham said of the Eagles. "I mean, Jordan Davis, I'm telling you, he is a guy that's gonna get the defense going.
And the offense, I can't wait for Jalen [Hurts] to prove them haters wrong as always and get us back to the promised land." "It's an adjustment for me, but it's a great adjustment because it's all about my kids and my family, trying to make sure I'm there for that," he said, adding, "So for me, I'm done, so y'all ain't gotta ask no more. I'm ready to move on." Graham said he planned to continue training to stay healthy and was "excited for what's to come." Philadelphia selected Graham with the No. 13 pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, and he became a significant part of their defense.
He achieved second-team All-Pro in 2016 and earned his first and only Pro Bowl selection in 2020. During his 16 seasons, he racked up 495 total tackles, 79.5 sacks, 23 forced fumbles, and a defensive touchdown. Graham was part of the Eagles teams that won Super Bowl LII in 2017 and Super Bowl LIX in 2025.
In March 2025, Graham announced his retirement. However, he returned that October to sign a contract with the Eagles. During that 2025 season, Graham made history with his two sacks against the Las Vegas Raiders, becoming the oldest player in NFL history to record a sack.
Heading into this season, the Eagles will look to improve upon last season's success, where they reached the postseason and fell to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wild Card Round.
