Edward Bluemel Suits Up as Detective Poirot in First Look at BBC and BritBox Series ‘Hercule’

Edward Bluemel has suited up as famed Agatha Christie detective Hercule Poirot in a first look at the upcoming BBC and BritBox series “Hercule.” The six-part show, which is shooting now in Liverpool, is an “intimate study of Hercule Poirot the man and an epic portrait of Britain between the wars,” according to a press release. The series, based on Christie’s bestselling Hercule Poirot novels, is produced by Mammoth Screen (part of ITV Studios) and Agatha Christie Limited for BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the U.K., and BritBox in North America. Chanya Button (“Code of Silence,” “Doctor Who”) helms the next two episodes with Alrick Riley (“Bridgerton,” “How to Get Away With Murder”) directing the final pair.

Executive producers include Walters, Campbell, James Prichard for Agatha Christie Limited, Rebecca Durbin and Damien Timmer for Mammoth Screen, Nick Lambon for the BBC and Robert Schildhouse, Jon Farrar, and Stephen Nye for BritBox. Charlie Palmer is series producer and Fifth Season is handling global distribution.
