Everton v Newcastle: Carabao Cup fourth round – live

59 min: Hackney is skittled 30 yards from goal, just to the left of centre. A promising situation … but Dewsbury-Hall slams a witless free kick straight into the wall. Newcastle counter through Elanga, who is stopped in full flight by Rohl’s well-timed last-ditch challenge.

Next goal feels so important … though they always do, don’t they?
