An exciting overtime game featuring Caitlin Clark and the Fever defeating Angel Reese and the Dream made WNBA history.

Two of the WNBA's top teams, the Atlanta Dream and Indiana Fever, battled in an exciting overtime game this past weekend, with Caitlin Clark and the Fever coming away with a hard-fought win. According to WNBA Communications, the game drew a record-high viewership, setting a new WNBA mark as the most-watched game ever on cable television. The game averaged 2.6 million viewers, with a peak of four million viewers.

In the matchup, the Dream led 81-78 with over two minutes remaining. Indiana's Kelsey Mitchell drained a 3-pointer with over a minute left to even the score, and despite Atlanta having opportunities to score the game-winning basket, they missed, forcing overtime. In the extra time, the Fever ultimately seized control of the game and led by six points with 1:21 remaining.

The Dream got within two points after Rhyne Howard hit three free throws with 10 seconds remaining. Clark sealed the game after getting fouled, hitting both free throws to help Indiana win 95-91. She scored 26 points, dished out nine assists, and grabbed three rebounds.

Reese had another career double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds to go with six assists. That win was part of Indiana's hot streak, as the team won its fourth-straight game and remained on the heels of the Las Vegas Aces for third in the WNBA standings. The Dream's loss kept them a spot below the Fever, with both teams seeming on track to reach the postseason.

Both teams were back in action on Tuesday night, with Clark and the Fever visiting Marina Mabrey and the Tempo in Toronto.
