Arsenal defender Emily Fox has signed a new contract at the club. The 28-year-old joined the Gunners from North Carolina Courage in January 2024 and has made 93 appearances, scoring three goals. She was nominated for the Ballon d'Or in 2025.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, USA international Fox said: "It was easy - I love the club. "I'm being challenged in a competitive environment and it's my second home. A very easy decision to want to stay.
"I've got a mindset to get better and more to prove. I'm always hungry as a player and leaning towards perfection. When I'm playing with the best players in the world, there are so many things I can learn.
"I want to push myself and in an environment where I'm challenged, there's consistency every day and matching it. I want to be even more consistent to prove myself." Tying Emily Fox down to a new contract was something Arsenal have been wanting to do for a while. The American has been one of the most consistent full-backs in the league since joining in 2024.
She is a modern-day full-back, but in the most traditional sense. By that I mean she runs the channels with intelligence, a constant source of energy and offensive threat, but does not shirk her defensive duties. The picture of reliability in both directions.
What I is especially like is how progressive she is in possession, always looking to pass forwards and someone who rarely gives the ball away. As Arsenal attempt to establish some rhythm in the early knockings of this season, the 28-year-old is an important stabilising figure to keep around.
