New electric vehicle sales shook off regional laggards in July to rise 9% from a year earlier, according to fresh estimates. Benchmark Mineral Intelligence pins global July sales at 1.85 million EVs. Year-to-date sales of EVs, which includes fully battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrids, at 11.5 million EVs, are up 4% from this point in 2025.
