Gleb Savchenko has some thoughts about Alan Bersten replacing Val Chmerkovskiy on Dancing with the Stars, and none of them are positive! Quick reminder in case you aren’t caught up: Val has been suspended from the show for a week due to the “Oscar Slap” comment he directed toward Carrie Ann Inaba. Meanwhile, DWTS asked Alan (who was voted off earlier this season) to step in to dance a Viennese waltz to “Unchained Melody” with Jenna Dewan, and apparently Gleb thinks they made the wrong choice.
Speaking candidly on a TikTok live, Gleb said “Alan, I think he’s Alan. I mean, he’s just not up to the level of dancing. He’s a good dancer, I guess...for TV.
But like, if we talk about, like, art dancing? I don’t know.” Gleb then added, “I don’t want to talk shit about people, I’m just being honest. I don’t have anything against the guy, I’m just like, why Alan?” Alan hasn’t responded to Gleb so far, but yikes.
Meanwhile, BBC Studios released a statement confirming Val’s week-long suspension, telling Deadline, “The well-being of everyone who works on Dancing with the Stars is non-negotiable. Val’s social media post was inappropriate and does not reflect the values or standards expected of anyone connected with the show. As a result, he will not participate in next week’s show.” Val will, presumably, be back on the dance floor next week.
