Lately, the Vogue beauty team has been trading jars of moisturizer and bottles of serum from the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift collection, delighted to see that its products perform just as well on the skin as they do on FYPs everywhere. I spent a weekend testing much of the Revitalift line for this piece—tough job, but somebody’s got to get dewy—and I see why the range is the worst-kept secret in the drugstore aisles. The Peptide Serum: L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Tri-Peptide Age-Defying Serum Why We Love It: Rayva Khanna, MD, a board-certified dermatologist based in Greenwich, Connecticut, signs off on this creamy serum as “a great drugstore option for patients looking to address multiple signs of skin aging in one formula.” She explains that it combines three peptides, including palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, which have been studied for their potential to support collagen production. What’s more, “Hyaluronic acid helps attract water to the skin, providing immediate hydration and a plumping effect, while ascorbyl glucoside, a stable vitamin C derivative, offers some antioxidant and brightening benefits.” She particularly likes that the formulation combines hydrating and anti-aging ingredients at an accessible price point. It stays a bit tacky as it dries down, but this is actually (oddly!) a good thing if you layer it under makeup—it sort of acts as a grippy primer, and it made the Fenty Beauty foundation I’ve been testing glide on smoothly and stay on longer. Editor’s Experience: I used this morning and night. Per the brand’s instructions, I smoothed three drops into my face and neck, steering clear of the eye area, and voila! It’s a quick, gentle step; the serum feels weightless, like the lightest whisper of hydration, and it instantly softened my skin.
