Shares of the company have increased 18.4% over the past three months, outperforming the S&P 500 Index's ($SPX) 2.6% rise over the same time frame. The stock is up 28.1% on a YTD basis, exceeding SPX's 12.5% gain. In the longer term, shares of the Bellevue, Washington-based company have soared 58.9% over the past 52 weeks, compared to the 15.5% return of the SPX over the same time frame.

EXPD stock has been trading above its 200-day average since November 2025. Expeditors shares rose 6.4% on Aug. 4 after Q2 2026 EPS jumped 51% to $2.03, net earnings increased 45% to $266 million, operating income rose 41% to $350 million, and revenue grew 32% to $3.5 billion. Strong demand drove 14% growth in airfreight tonnage, while Customs, Transcon, Distribution, and Order Management each delivered double-digit revenue growth for the second consecutive quarter, supported by AI hyperscalers and tariff-related complexity.

The company also highlighted a strong new-business pipeline and expects its technology restructuring to reduce annual costs by approximately $50 million. In comparison, rival J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. (JBHT) has lagged behind EXPD stock on a YTD basis, with JBHT stock gaining 19.1%.

However, JBHT stock have surged 74.7% over the past 52 weeks, outpacing EXPD stock. Despite the stock's outperformance relative to the SPX, analysts remain cautious about its prospects. EXPD stock has a consensus rating of "Hold" from the 17 analysts covering it, and as of writing, the stock is trading above the mean price target of $183.36.
