The Cincinnati Bengals are 2-0 to begin their 2026 NFL campaign. In recent years, the Bengals have relied on the elite offensive unit led by quarterback Joe Burrow and superstar wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase to make up for serious shortcomings on the defensive side of the ball. Last year, Cincinnati rolled out one of the worst defenses in the league, averaging 380.9 yards allowed and 28.9 points allowed per game.
But in Sunday's Week 2 win over the Houston Texans, the Bengals defense held CJ Stroud and the opposing offense to just six points. The Texans didn't score a single touchdown as their six points came on two made field goals. "Man, I can't even describe how much I love our defense right now," Chase said after the Week 2 win.
After a lackluster performance in Week 1, Chase bounced back with a monster game against the Texans. The superstar WR reeled in seven catches for 75 yards and two touchdowns, including an incredible over-the-shoulder, toe-tap touchdown that's an early contender for play of the year. The Bengals will look to continue their impressive play on both sides of the ball in this coming Sunday's Week 3 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
