Okay, but what’s really going on?

The competition is seriously heating up on Dancing With the Stars season 35, and fans already have their guesses for the next round of eliminations. Ahead of this week’s episode, viewers started side-eyeing Savannah Bananas athlete Jackson Olson after he dropped a shady-seeming comment about Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s Guillermo Rodriguez—but everything seems to be fine between the pair. On October 6, Jackson publicly apologized after his initial comments about Guillermo’s Yacht Rock Night performance were taken out of context.

I love this guy ❤️ now let’s do what this show is meant to be about.. DANCE 🕺 ily G,” he wrote alongside a video of him and Guillermo dancing to Hannah Montana’s “Nobody’s Perfect.” The song choice was key, as they lip-synced to the lyrics: “Everybody makes mistakes, everybody has those days.” As for how we got ^^^ here, it all started on October 3. The official Loco Beach Coconuts account uploaded a TikTok and Instagram Reel featuring one of its players, Erik Ostberg, recreating Guillermo and Witney Carson’s Yacht Rock Night choreography.

The video—which showed Erik busting a move on the field and revealing a shirt that reads “Dancing 4 the People” in homage to Guillermo—seems lighthearted and made in good fun, especially since Erik says, “Shoutout Guillermo, Loco Beach!” The post’s caption even reads, “Couldn’t let @Jackson Olson have all the fun.” But the fun didn’t last. Fans eventually took the post as a “mockery” or dig at Guillermo—especially because Jackson allegedly commented, “@erikostberg21 but seriously how did you do this better than him with 2 hours of rehearsal.” At this time, it seems like the athlete backtracked and deleted his comment. Fans also came to Witney and Guillermo’s defense, requesting that the DWTS pro be credited for her choreography on the Loco Beach Coconuts account.

The team eventually tagged her in their caption. As for whether this rumored drama will lead to Jackson’s elimination from the competition? Fans are apparently placing their bets online.

According to data from Kalshi, 58 percent of betting viewers think Jackson might get the boot, while 29 percent are banking on Bachelor Nation alum Tyler Cameron. Witney and Guillermo also seem unbothered and focused on their upcoming choreo after ^^^ all that went down, as shown in their post from Sunday, October 4. It’s unclear whether Jackson’s comment is actually shade toward Guillermo or it’s just a friendly competition.

Either way, we’ll be seated to see what goes down during Mariah Carey Night in this week’s episode!
