Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed suffered a scary neck injury early in the team's Week 2 win over the New York Jets. He was immobilized on a backboard with a neck brace before being carted off the field and transported to a local hosptital. Reed had all feeling and movement in his extremities, and the wide receiver is reportedly recovering well.
However, it appears Reed could be out for the remainder of the season. The Packers are reportedly placing him on the injured reserve for an indefinite period of time. Reed took to social media with a telling message in response to this news.
"God will use the unusual to do the unexpected… 11 out," he wrote on Instagram. Reed recorded 793 yards and eight touchdowns as a second-round draft pick for the Packers in 2023. In Year 2, he had 857 yards and six scores.
Reed missed a significant portion of the 2025 season with a fractured left foot and a broken collarbone. Reed signed a four-year, $50.25 million contract extension with the Packers in April.
