The Philadelphia 76ers have a new-look squad entering the 2026-27 NBA season. The team added two superstar players this offseason: Jaylen Brown via trade with the Eastern Conference-rival Boston Celtics, and all-time great NBA player LeBron James in free agency. Brown and James join an already-talented roster featuring Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe — making the 76ers one of the leading favorites to win the Eastern Conference.
During a recent livestream, Brown said James looks as good as ever heading into his historic 24th NBA season. We're working, man," Brown said. James is 41 years old, set to turn 42 in December.
However, he's still one of the most productive players in the league. In his eighth and final season with the Los Angeles Lakers last year, James averaged 20.9 points, 7.2 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game. Brown, James and the 76ers will begin their 2026-27 regular-season schedule with an Opening Night matchup against the reigning-champion New York Knicks on Oct. 20.
