Jets Rule Out 2 Key Offensive Players for Week 6 Clash vs Patriots

Two important players will remain sidelined when the New York Jets play the New England Patriots this Sunday.

The New York Jets won't welcome back two injured contributors for their Week 6 contest against the New England Patriots. Jets head coach Aaron Glenn confirmed Friday morning that running back Breece Hall and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell won't play on Sunday. Hall will miss his third straight game with a quad injury, and Mitchell will miss his fourth straight week with a finger injury.

Glenn also ruled out defensive end Joseph Ossai and guard Dylan Parham. The offense at least got some encouraging news, as wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. and tight end Kenyon Sadiq will return to full practice participation for the first time this week. After tallying his first 1,000-yard rushing campaign in 2025, Hall averaged just 3.2 yards per carry through three weeks.

Hall scored his lone touchdown in a Week 1 win over the Tennessee Titans, but the versatile playmaker tallied 102 receiving yards to his 163 rushing yards. In his absence, Braelon Allen guided the Jets to a Week 5 victory over the Cleveland Browns with a career-high 116 rushing yards and a touchdown. The 2024 fourth-round pick should receive another hefty backfield workload this weekend at Gillette Stadium.

Mitchell looked poised to play a bigger role in New York's passing attack after getting 12 targets in a Week 2 overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers. But the 24-year-old hasn't played since, prompting Geno Smith to rely heavily on star receiver Garrett Wilson. Isaiah Williams is second to Wilson on the Jets with 151 receiving yards, including a 58-yard touchdown in a Week 4 loss to the Chicago Bears.

The Jets will look to make a major statement against their AFC East rival without Hall and Mitchell. Sunday's game at New England starts at 1 p.m.
