When newly elected Komeito leader Mitsunari Okamoto formally accepts his post at the party’s convention on Saturday, he’ll immediately face the task of leading the 49-lawmaker opposition force through the autumn session of parliament that begins Monday. Okamoto, 61, is a former deputy finance minister with an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. He was appointed Komeito’s new leader at the party’s executive meeting on Wednesday.
