LeBron James achieved a historic feat in the NBA play-by-play era during the Philadelphia 76ers' clash with the Detroit Pistons.

Philadelphia 76ers superstar LeBron James is in his 24th season and playing for the fourth team in his legendary career. At 41 years old, he continues to achieve impressive feats that could be difficult to replicate. On Wednesday evening, he and the red-hot 76ers visited Detroit to play another of the Eastern Conference's top teams, the Detroit Pistons.

Philadelphia led 56-42 at halftime, with James a major part of his team's strong effort. At the half, King James was on pace for a triple-double with eight points, seven rebounds, and six assists. However, ESPN commentator Doris Burke pointed out a historic achievement by James.

"It's the 205th different player he has assisted to in his career," Burke announced as ESPN showed a highlight of James' incredible pass to his teammate and displayed his assist stat on the screen. Based on ESPN's highlight clip, the historic assist came when James found teammate Adem Bona with a quick one-handed pass under the basket for a wide-open dunk. James played two separate stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers, winning an NBA championship during the second stint with the franchise.

He's also won two championships with the Miami Heat, and then another with the Los Angeles Lakers, for whom he played for the past eight years. This offseason, he made the big move as a free agent to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers in pursuit of another championship with a different team in the Eastern Conference. So far, that move is working out as the team has been one of the best to start the season.

They were leading the conference at 7-1, but the Pistons were right behind them at 6-1 ahead of Wednesday night's huge matchup in Detroit. James is averaging 16.2 points, seven rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game. James ranks fourth on the NBA's all-time assists list and is within striking distance of passing Hall of Famer Jason Kidd for third place, potentially this month or in December.
