Through his first three NFL seasons, Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs has separated himself as one of the most explosive offensive weapons in the league. Through 17 regular-season games in 2025, the former No. 11 overall pick rushed for 1,223 yards and 13 touchdowns, while reeling in a career-high 77 catches for 616 yards and five more scores. Gibbs' NFL peers recognize him as one of the best overall players in the league, voting him the No. 9 player on the 2026 NFL Top 100 rankings.
The Lions took to social media with a post reacting to Gibbs' spot on this year's rankings. Earlier this month, Gibbs agreed to three-year, $67.5 million contract extension with the Lions — making him the highest-paid running back in NFL history. His deal includes $51.5 million guaranteed and could be worth up to $75.75 million with incentives.
Gibbs and the Lions will open up their 2026 NFL regular-season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 13.
