LIV golfers hoping for a path to return to the PGA Tour received a rude awakening from PGA Tour CEO and commissioner Brandon Rolapp this week. Rolapp said Tuesday that the tour has no current plan to bring back the Returning Member Program, which would be a potential pathway for Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Cameron Smith to return from the LIV Golf League. Five-time major champion Brooks Koepka used the Returning Member Program to return to the PGA Tour this season, though he was forced to forfeit player equity shares for the next five years and wasn't eligible for the $100 million FedEx Cup bonus program this season.

He did leave the door open for LIV golfers who want to return to the PGA Tour by saying the golf league wants to see the best golfers in the world competing week in and week out, but made it clear penalties would be in store. "In this job, you have to take into account everybody's feelings and all stakeholders," Rolapp said.
"I think what I would say on that is [that] I think fans are clear where they want to see the best golfers competing week in and week out. Our competitive model that we've been working on is an attempt to get closer to that standard." As of now, though, it seems unlikely the likes of DeChambeau, Rahm and others like Tyrrell Hatton will be back on the PGA Tour next season.
