Livestreamer who filmed and took selfies at deadly Amazon plane crash site in Miami is unrepentant

A live-streamer who filmed the scene of a deadly plane crash and posted it on his revenue-generating channel is unrepentant and won’t be taking it down, he told The Independent, despite fierce online backlash. An Amazon Prime Air delivery plane crash-landed Sunday afternoon at Miami International Airport, Florida, killing five people in a van on the ground and injuring three others when the jet tore through a perimeter fence. The cause of the crash is being investigated.

Around four hours later, Kick streamers “ChickenAndy,” 27, of Calabasas, California, Miami-based “BinxBasilisk,” 33, and two other streamers arrived at the crash site. The pair posed in front of the plane’s nose, holding their phones on selfie sticks. The plane is visible behind them with the aircraft’s nose smashed into the ground and against the chain-link fence.

On a livestream to his 39,200 followers on Kick, which generates an income, ChickenAndy documented the group as they pushed closer to the crashed plane, interacting along the way with media members, civilians and police officers. An Instagram community note posted below the photo read: “This was an Amazon Prime Air Cargo Flight, on September 6, 2026. It overran a runway and crashed while landing at Miami International Airport on Sunday, at least 5 people were killed in the crash.” The backlash to the social media content was swift.

Aviation and flight tracker Jack Sweeney was one of those who reposted the photo on X Monday. Other social media users posted directly beneath the streamers’ photo. Couldn’t even wait 24 hours to capitalize on it for clout,” one wrote.

A number of people tagged the Miami-Dade Police Department, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and National Transportation Safety Board, urging them to investigate. In an interview with The Independent Tuesday, ChickenAndy, who asked to be identified only by his username, claimed that he did not know anyone had died when the group began their livestream and photoshoot at the crash site. He said he wouldn’t take the footage or photo posts down.

I don’t think I did anything wrong. I’m not hiding from anything.” He added: “I did not film any bodies, and I would never film a body. When people lose their lives, it’s a pretty big deal.
