Paul said the franchise told him that they would retire his No. 3 jersey following his release last year. "Chris Paul is EASILY the best player in the Los Angeles Clippers franchise history. How are they just going to disrespect him like this?" one fan asked.
"Insanely disrespectful franchise. They deserve the worst," another said. "Blatant disrespect by the organization," another added.
"It’s kinda wild how disrespectful the Clippers have been to Chris Paul. Cutting a franchise legend during his last season and immediately giving out his number?" another wrote. Paul played seven seasons with the Clippers and is the franchise's all-time leader in assists.
