Pressure is a privilege... right? An injury-riddled junior season at Oregon has clouded the fact that Shelstad is still a stone-cold hooper. The 6-foot-1 senior guard is a big-time shooter who can punish defenses that go under pick-and-rolls, and he loves to get to that midrange pull-up jumper.
Another underrated aspect of Shelstad's game is the pure, raw speed. He hits the gas and can scoot. Two seasons ago, Shelstad was one of the Big Ten's best transition scorers.
That should be on full display for Louisville. But he has to round out the rough edges of his game. Becoming a better and more consistent playmaker is essential for this new-look Louisville team to reach the peak of its powers.
