Major Update Emerges on Packers RB Josh Jacobs’ Potential NFL Suspension

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler revealed a potential timeline for a possible suspension for Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs.

The Green Bay Packers were outscored 22-0 in their 39-22 Week 1 loss vs. the Minnesota Vikings. Things might be going from bad to worse for Green Bay, as ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler wrote recently that star running back Josh Jacobs could soon be facing a lengthy suspension. Jacobs was placed on the commissioner's exempt list Aug. 30, three days after he was formally charged with two misdemeanors stemming from an alleged incident with his ex-girlfriend in May.

The NFL is still investigating the case. The league has reportedly been trying to get ahold of videotape of the incident to no avail. "So, the NFL's investigation is ongoing, but there could be a suspension sooner rather than later.

Jacobs remains on the commissioner exempt list," Fowler wrote. "A four-to-six-game suspension could be the range based on a few people I've talked to in the league, but that's obviously fluid and based on the league's findings." The Packers travel to face the New York Jets in Week 2 before returning home to play the Atlanta Falcons on "Thursday Night Football" in Week 3. Green Bay doesn't have its bye until Week 11.

The Packers' rushing attack struggled in Week 1 against the Vikings, as 2024 third-round pick MarShawn Lloyd recorded 37 yards on 13 rushing attempts and undrafted fourth-year pro Chris Brooks added seven carries for 29 yards. Brooks and Lloyd were both targeted just once in the passing game, with neither able to secure a reception.
