Martha Stewart reveals she gave JFK Jr chilling warning days before plane crash

Martha Stewart shared a chilling and telling message with JFK Jr days before his death, the TV personality has revealed. The son of US president John F Kennedy and his wife Jacqueline, John Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr died in a plane crash in 1999, with his wife Carolyn Bessette and sister-in-law Lauren also on board and dying in the crash. John had been piloting the plane at the time.

John and Carolyn’s relationship was recently the subject of Ryan Murphy’s Love Story series starring Paul Anthony Kelly and Sarah Pidgeon, which Stewart spoke about watching during a guest appearance on Real Housewives of New York. Discussing Murphy’s show with her friend and RHONY newcomer Nicole Daisy Toye in the season 16 premiere, the 85-year-old went on to recall how she met with John just four days before his death on 16 July, 1999. Stewart explained that John was having some “trouble” with his political lifestyle magazine George; as a leader in the publishing space with her own popular publication Martha Stewart Living Magazine, the lifestyle mogul was the person to come to.

Telling the story, Stewart said that she’d offered to tell John ”anything you want”, and that the pair “had a very nice dinner”. Plan auto-renews until cancelled. This revenue helps to fund journalism across The Independent.

That conversation happened on a Monday; on the Friday night, John, Carolyn and Lauren boarded a small aircraft in New Jersey, with the intention of flying along the Connecticut coast to Martha’s Vineyard. The plane was reported to have not arrived in the early hours of the Saturday morning, and two days later, fragments of the plane – and eventually the bodies – were located in the Atlantic Ocean west of Martha’s Vineyard. Reflecting on the conversation, Stewart said: “I’ve thought about that so many times that I told him to get a copilot.

I feel sorry.” The finale of Love Story depicted the crash and its aftermath, with John receiving a weather briefing ahead of the flight. After take-off, Carolyn climbs into the cockpit mid-flight. The screen then goes to black as faint ocean sounds are heard in the background.
