Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving offered to pay the NFL fine for Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair.

Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was fined $11,492 for an unauthorized message written on his eye black during Sunday's Week 1 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Al-Shaair wrote the name Hind Rajab on his eye black, recognizing the five-year-old Palestinian girl who was killed by Israeli military forces in Gaza City on Jan. 29, 2024. The NFL issued Al-Shaair a similar fine in January when he wrote "stop the genocide" on his eye black.

In response to the news of Al-Shaair's latest NFL punishment, Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving publicly vowed to pay the fine. "I’ll take care of his fine," Irving wrote on social media. Al-Shaair delivered a public statement following his first fine in January.
