Milo Yiannopoulos, a far-right commentator with ties to President Donald Trump and Kanye West, was deported by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Friday after being taken into custody, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told Newsweek in an email Saturday. The spokesperson said that Yiannopoulos was "an illegal alien from the United Kingdom, back to his home country." Yiannopoulos has previously been vocal of his support of ICE and deportation, saying in a post to X in June of 2025 that California "needs ICE checkpoints at supermarket entrances, gas stations, strip malls, intersections and government buildings, with on the spot deportation for anyone who can’t prove they are in the US legally." In an interview with Joe Rogan in 2016, he said he supported deportation but clarified, "I mean bad immigrants," adding, "I don't mean handsome, charming, successful, blonde-haired British immigrants….It's about culture." He was arrested by ICE at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) in Kenner, Louisiana, according to the spokesperson, who noted that "Yiannopoulos legally entered the country on May 14, 2019, through New York City, New York." "He chose to overstay his welcome in violation of our nation’s laws," the spokesperson continued.
A final order of removal was issued July 22 by an immigration judge after Yiannopoulos failed to show up for an immigration hearing, according to the spokesperson. "DHS reversed the horrendous Biden-era policy that allowed aliens in our country illegally to jet around our country. Under President Trump, DHS will no longer tolerate this," the spokesperson said, adding, "This administration is working diligently to ensure that aliens in our country illegally can no longer fly unless it is out of our country to self-deport."
