In just his second game as a member of the Boston Celtics, veteran center Mitchell Robinson will face off against his former New York Knicks team. Just after helping the Knicks secure their first NBA title in 53 years, Robinson left the team in order to sign a more lucrative contract with the Eastern Conference-rival Celtics. Now, he's gearing up for a matchup against the team where he spent the first eight years of his NBA career.
Robinson was asked about the upcoming matchup against his former team when speaking to reporters on Thursday. "It doesn't really matter that I'm playing my former team," Robinson said. "It's basketball, it's a business.
Got to play the team just like you play any other team." Robinson played 18 minutes in his regular-season debut with the Celtics, recording four points, three rebounds and two blocks in a 121-113 loss to the Detroit Pistons. Andre Drummond, the Knicks' center replacement for Robinson, recorded a 12-point, 14-rebound double-double in his New York debut. Friday night's Knicks-Celtics matchup will tip off at 7 p.m.
