Los Angeles Rams star defensive end Myles Garrett returned to limited practice Wednesday following left knee surgery, according to the team’s official website. His availability for Sunday’s game against Washington remains undecided. Head coach Sean McVay planned to give Garrett roughly half his practice repetitions before evaluating how he responded.
Garrett participated in individual pass-rushing drills during the portion of practice open to reporters, the Los Angeles Times reported. McVay said the team would evaluate him daily before deciding whether to activate him. McVay said the staff had tried to be “as diligent, as thorough” as possible before putting Garrett back on the field.
Garrett underwent surgery after the season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Australia. Los Angeles acquired him from Cleveland in June, bringing in the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year after he set a single-season record with 23 sacks in 2025. McVay had outlined plans earlier this week for Garrett to practice.
Wednesday’s update supplied a more specific workload and a look at how the Rams intend to handle his return. The Rams (4-4) visit the Commanders (2-4-1) on Sunday at Northwest Stadium.
