Week 4 of the 2026 NFL season featured two separate moments of "unprofessional conduct" from league officials. First, line judge Jeff Seeman was caught on camera appearing to yell obscenities at star tight end Trey McBride during the Arizona Cardinals' matchup against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. Next, referee Adrian Hill was captured screaming in Eric Wilson's face after the Vikings linebacker accidentally knocked him over during Sunday's Minnesota-Miami matchup.
The NFL announced its punishments for both of these officials on Monday. Seeman received a two-game suspension, while Hill was issued a one-game suspension. The suspensions were levied by NFL Vice President of Officiating Ramon George.
JC Tretter, the executive director of the NFL Players' Association, publicly condemned Seeman's actions with a social media post on Sunday. "This kind of behavior from an official towards a player is unacceptable. Players are consistently held accountable when the roles are reversed.
We expect the NFL to hold officials to the same standard," Tretter wrote. The Giants claimed victory over the Cardinals with a 36-24 final score. The Vikings took down the Dolphins 15-10.
