Dianna Russini may make a comeback in sports media soon.

It was certainly a messy offseason for New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel. He got entangled in a scandal after photos of the head coach with NFL reporter Dianna Russini were published, showing the two looking cozy together, holding hands and embracing on a trip. After the fallout, Russini officially stepped down from her job as senior NFL reporter at The Athletic in April.

She hasn't been in sports media since. But, the football season is coming soon, so don't be surprised if she makes a comeback. The Athletic's Mike Silver believes Russini will be back in the media world soon.

Silver has been clear that he's fond of Russini as a coworker. Then, on "The Tom Tolbert Show" on Thursday, he said that he truly believes she'll resurface again soon.

She's got a great family," he said on the show. "And so, you know, a lot of people have had a lot of thoughts about it. I'm not really getting into that, but I would say she is doing a lot better and her family's doing well." He added, "I do think she's going to be back, probably not as an insider, at least in the short term.

But I think she'll be back in this realm, probably talking about football and other things pretty soon." With the NFL season just around the corner, Silver's comments are sure to get people wondering what could be next for Russini. For now, there's no word on exactly what that comeback might look like, but if she does return to the football world, it could draw lots of attention. After stepping away from the spotlight following such a chaotic stretch, Russini may be ready to find her way back on her own terms.
